The exterior, period features have been restored, whilst the interior has undergone a metamorphosis similar to Cardiffs own. The living space of the hotel is both elegant and subtle, using neutral tones combined with the buildings natural skeleton. There is a sheer decadence of wasted space in this period property with wonderfully wide corridors, large windows and the historical conservation order protected Scott Room, creating the perfect fusion of traditional style and contemporary design. Local car parking is available at the NCP on Wood Street, approximately 25 metres from the hotel at a discounted rate.

Sat Nav instructions - if using sat nav please enter westgate street - Cardiff (CF10 1DW may want to direct you to St Mary Street which runs parallel to Westgate street and is pedestrianised), there is a set down point outside of the hotel rear entrance and car parking can be also found on westgate street.Weekend road-updateduring busy weekends the city closes some of the roads into the centre, this can make navigating into the city for those volunteered to map read very tricky, follow the diversion signs and contact the hotel for the latest information on road closures prior to traveling. we are working with the tourist office to gain some better updates which will follow as soon as possible. Directions for Car ParksThe Royal Hotel Cardiff has agreements for discounted parking at the following NCP Car ParksWestgate Street Car Park.On entering Westgate street and take the first left turn into the NCP. On exit from the car park turn left into Westgate street and the hotel entrance is a two minute walk, at the bottom of the road on the left hand side. Directions - rail cardiff central stationthe royal hotel cardiff is 300yds from cardiff central station. exit the station and walk straight ahead for 100 yards to the main road, you will see a large building on the right across the road, on the corner of Westgate Street and St Mary street, with ONeils bar on the ground floor (blue sign). The entrance to the hotel is on the left side of the building, just past the entrance to Edwards Bar.
